Counterfeiting is
any form of deception designed to fool a buyer (consumer, retailer,
distributor, etc.) into believing that they are purchasing a product
by Public Games LP. Counterfeit packaging can involve unauthorized use
of a registered trademark on the packaging or similar use of the original
characteristics and is designed to deceive a buyer with sub-standard
product as the genuine Public Games product. The packaging of Public
Games products are unique and very recognizable. Please do not make
purchase dicisions based on questionable appearance of packaging or
cards. Counterfeit products are made to look like the real thing. Counterfeiters
may spare no expense in emulate the real deal.
Below are some key
points to help identify counterfeit cards...
- Counterfeit package
artwork may look out of focus or with dulled colors.
- Official Public
Games products are only printed in English,
Spanish, Japanese, French, German, and Italian.
- The card coating
that Public Games uses is similar to regular playing cards. However,
counterfeit products may have shiny coatings on them.
- The hologram
located in the lower right-hand corner shows the game logo. Counterfeit
holograms are misplaced or can sometimes be scraped off with your
fingernail.
- Card backs say
Public Games LP® in the top left hand corner and have the game name
located in the bottom right-hand corner. Incorrect spelling or missing
artwork can indicate a counterfeit.
